I've always loved Saki's dark humor. I imagined it would be really hard to adapt his writings to film though.
This was actually quite well directed, despite a bit of rushing through the story.
I loved the scene where the foggy arrivals was interrupted with the flabbergasted expressions of the visitor and the niece.
The visitor's slow turn in body language from a man confident of having a good stay of rest and relaxation, through a nervous mess worried for the sanity of his host, straight to the terrified escape artist, he was very well cast for this particular role.
